A Chinese carved wooden panel by Liu Gaunglian. The carving features six characters reading "Hua Hao Yue Yuan Ren Shou" and four seals. Panel is for an 80th birthday. Dimensions are: 17 1/2 inches tall X 53 1/2 inches wide, 44.5 cm tall X 135.9 cm wide. All measurements are approximate. Condition: Shows age wear; a crack to the bottom. Provenance: From the estate of Mr. Kwok Woon Kun, formerly a shareholder of Wing On Company, a well-known department store group in Hong Kong and Shanghai. This collection was acquired in Hong Kong prior to Mr. Kwok's death in 1969. His collection was shipped to Canada in 1981 and was inherited by Mr. Kwok's daughter and grandson. Lot 229-285 from our auction on Sept 6th, 2019, were from the same estate.
