A pair of late 19th / early 20th century Anglo – Indian silver gilt goblets, Cutch circa 1900 by VK (unidentified, Wilkinson p.92) Raj period, each of tapering cylindrical form upon a domed circular foot with chased stylised leaf stem with central knop. Each with a vacant shield shape cartouche to the front, set against deep chased foliate scroll decoration with hounds chasing a hare, the lower section with a band of stylised betel leaves. The domed base with similar chased foliate scrolls and rosettes. Each marked underneath with VK only. (2) Height – 18.8 cm / 7.4 inches Weight – 592 grams / 19.03 ozt The unidentifed maker VK is described as "specialised in oval teasets and trays in addition to making other hollow-ware. All of his signed work was of a consistently high standard of workmanship."
