配硬木底座料器本是以石英粉和纯碱为原料的一种玻璃制品，进入汉代以后中国已经熟练掌握了其生产技巧，但高质量的玻璃器仍主要靠进口。以料器为材的器型仿瓷器为多，其中料器天球瓶乃一重要品种。该天球瓶器口微敞，长颈，溜肩，鼓腹，器形端庄，质地光润亮泽，内蕴宝光；宝石蓝发色均匀、淡雅，并未呈现众多其它清中期料器烧造中出现颜色不均的状况，通体晶莹剔透，盈握之手感温润如玉，反映出清三代时玻璃作精湛的工艺水平。
