王世襄所着《明式家具珍赏》言：“微型家具，因形制特小，而格式气度仿佛是大型家具”。此件翘头案即属案头陈设，小巧周整，仪态端庄，具体而微。取材静穆沉古，飞角翼然，镂纹隽秀，无铅华之气。上嵌瘿木整板，静中藏动，藏拙于巧。前后两侧饰以螭龙纹饰，大气典雅。所谓雅而尚礼、文不失秀，赏玩者必聪慧好古之士。
