SASA ZAHRADNIK (CZECH, B.1950): A BRONZE FIGURE OF A GIRL WITH FLUTE, the standing figure nude and clad in a diaphanous skirt, holding a flute, raised on an integral square base with impressed stamp to the base, mid brown and goldish patination, 34cm high Zahradnik studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Prague and his works are in the National Gallery of Prague and the Capital Gallery, Prague. Working mainly in bronze now, his works often represent the female form and have a poetic quality which is demonstrated in the present small statuette.
