A PAIR OF MID 19TH CENTURY FRENCH 'PORCELAIN DE PARIS' FIGURAL PERFUME BOTTLES OF A SULTAN AND SULTANA, FOR THE TURKISH MARKET, each modelled in the form of a standing figure, a richly attired Ottoman Sultan and Sultana, made as flasks and each with a stopper in their turban, each supported on a square base with with gilt decoration and a fluted water basin at their feet, 34cm high (2) Auction Comparables; Very similar figures were sold recently at Sotheby's, London, 27 October 2020, lot 509, £27,000. This pair also featured the lobed water basin at the feet of the figures. Related Literature: H.
