这件臂搁为竹制，取材完整，质地细密，纹理自然，臂搁通体光素无纹饰，古朴淡雅中透着高贵清新的文人雅气，臂搁正面雕刻诗文。 杨龙石，号龙石。清代吴江刻竹大家，被誉为“江南第一名手”。善治印，精刻竹，篆刻初学浙派，后致力于秦汉印。印章以秦汉为宗。竹刻善摹金石文字，尝曰：刻朱文用刀之法，须从春蚕食叶参悟。”深得篆刻精髓。清代陈文述的《画林新咏》：“能于扇骨上刻蝇头细书及缩本金石文，山水、花草、人物，纤微毕到。”为世藏者所珍。
