A pair of Chinese panels inlaid with fan-shaped porcelain plaques dating from the Republic period. The porcelain plaques feature a pair of birds among branches, and they each have two seals. The plaques are set against a rocky ground with mother of pearl accents. Each panel is framed. Dimensions are: 15 inches tall X 10 inches wide, 38.1 cm X 25.4 cm, while the frame measures 17 inches tall X 12 inches wide, 43.2 cm X 30.5 cm. All measurements are approximate. High resolution images can be found here Condition: One panel has a crack to its obverse and cracking to its reverse. The other panel has a hairline to the handle of the porcelain fan and cracking to its reverse. Provenance: From a private New York City collection.
