A pair of Chinese coral-glazed boxes dating from the 19th century with matching wooden stands. The boxes feature gold double Shou characters among lotus tracery on the coral ground. There are white roundels of red auspicious characters on the lid and base. Each has a 6-character mark on the bottom. Dimensions are: 5 inches tall X 7 1/2 inches wide, 12.7 cm X 19.1 cm. The other box has two chips and a significant break on the base that has been repaired. Provenance: From a private New York City collection.
