A Chinese yellow-ground famille rose box with a 4-character mark of Guangxu and of the period. The top of the round box features a Shou character with a pair of bats surrounded by flowers. There is a gold meander border on a coral ground around the edges of its lid and base. The interior of the box is glazed white. Dimensions are: 4 1/2 inches tall X 7 3/4 inches wide, 11.4 cm X 19.7 cm. All measurements are approximate.
