A Chinese peachbloom "beehive" waterpot with a 6-character Kangxi mark and of the period. It features three incised roundels of a pair of beasts. Provenance: From a private collection in Virginia. Reference: Similar peachbloom waterpots from the Kangxi period have been sold at various auctions, e.g. at Christie's Hong Kong on May 30, 2017, as lot 3012 and recently at Christie's New York on September 23, 2020, as lot 812. Several museums have similar examples, including the National Palace Museum in Taipei under the collection number 000011-N000000000 and the Metropolitan Museum of New York under the collection number 14.40.363.
