A Chinese yellow-ground famille rose jardiniere dating from the 19th century. The body features four milleflore characters between bats with a pair of lucky coins. The rim features a ruyi band. Dimensions are: 13 inches tall X 14 1/4 inches wide, 33 cm X 36.2 cm. All measurements are approximate. High resolution images can be found here Condition: There is significant cracking on the bottom and glaze skipping and chipping present. Provenance: From the estate of a surgeon in the Washington, D.C. area. The items were acquired from various auction houses including Christie's and Sotheby's prior to the 1990s.
