An Imperial Chinese yellow glazed bowl with a 6-character Daoguang mark and of the period. The exterior of the bowl is incised with a pair of dragons chasing flaming pearls above a wave and rock motif. Dimensions are: 2 inches tall X 4 3/8 inches wide, 5.1 cm tall X 11.1 cm wide. All measurements are approximate. High resolution images can be found here Condition: Five hairline cracks to the rim. Provenance: From the estate of a surgeon in the Washington, D.C. area. The items were acquired from various auction houses including Christie's and Sotheby's prior to the 1990s. A similar Daoguang period yellow incised bowl was sold at Christie's New York on March 16, 2017, as lot 1281.
