A group of 5 Chinese white jade carvings of zodiac animals dating from the 19th century with hardwood bases inlaid with silver wire. Included in this lot are: the dog, ram, pig, dragon, and ox. Dimensions are: 3/4 inches tall X 1 3/8 inches wide, 1.9 cm tall X 3.5 cm wide. All measurements are approximate. High resolution images can be found here Condition: There is one small chip to the foot of the dragon, otherwise good condition. Provenance: From the estate of a surgeon in the Washington, D.C. area. The items were acquired from various auction houses including Christie's and Sotheby's prior to the 1990s.
