A pair of Chinese jadeite covered bowls dating from the 19th century. Dimensions are: 3 1/2 inches tall X 4 1/2 inches wide, 8.9 cm tall X 11.4 cm wide. All measurements are approximate. High resolution images can be found here Condition: Both are in good condition with natural inclusions and seams in the stone. Provenance: From a Southern California collector. Reference: A similar jadeite covered bowl with red skin dating from the Qing dynasty was sold online by Christie's Hong Kong on June 13, 2019, as lot 8144. A set of three similar jadeite bowls, but of varying sizes and without covers, was sold at Christie's Hong Kong on May 28, 2012, as lot 3548. A jadeite covered bowl from the Qing Court collection, now preserved in the Palace Museum, Beijing, is illustrated in Treasures of Imperial Court, Hong Kong: Commercial Press, 2004, pg. 226. The Metropolitan Museum of New York has a similar jadeite covered bowl dating from the Qianlong period under the collection number 21.175.148a, b. The Harvard Art Museum has a similar covered jadeite bowl dating from the 18th-19th centuries under the collection number 1942.185.216.A-B.
