A small Chinese carved jade sword guard dating from the Warring States period. The guard features a grain pattern and a triple ruyi. Dimensions are: 1/4 inches tall X 1 1/2 inches wide,0.6 cm tall X 3.8 cm wide. All measurements are approximate. High resolution images can be found here Condition: Age appropriate wear, including chipping and surface wear. Provenance: From a private collection in Southern California. Reference: A similar jade plaque, but depicting a tiger and dating from the Western Zhou dynasty, was recently sold at Christie's Hong Kong on November 29, 2020, as lot 2768.
