A SCOTTISH GEORGE III "MOON PHASES" CLOCK, BY J. CAMERON AND SONS, KILMARNOCK, EARLY 19TH CENTURY, IN LATER OAK LONGCASE, CIRCA 1870s, the bonnet composed of a classical broken pediment cornice centering a stylized fan detail and flanked by two acroteria, above a reeded frieze and flat architrave over a hinged door with glazed arch rectangular window, opening to a conforming Arabic numerals moon phases dial centering painted moon faces on a lapis blue sky filled with golden stars, above a silvered ring dial with black Roman hour chapters and Arabic five minute numerals, enclosing a minutes ring dial and days of the month ring dial with blued steel pointers, amidst engraved scrolling acanthus centering blued steel halberd and pike hands flanked by twin key escapements, engraved signature "J. Cameron & Sons Kilmarnock," above along hinged door with a molding framed twist pleated panel over a molded flat panel, opening to a long pendulum with brass disc bob and two cast iron weights, above exterior reeded trim on a molded box form paneled base raised on a molding detailed arched plinth ending as block form feet, includes one winding lever.
