A "SULKY" HORSE DRAWN CHARIOT CHILD'S TIN TRICYCLE, FRENCH, EARLY 20TH CENTURY, modeled as a trotting horse with yoke pulling a small single seat chariot, with driver's white plastic strap reins and simple pedal chain driven mechanism, on a later white Pirelli inflatable rubber tire opposite an original Bergougnan rubber tire before a matching front wheel. Height: 35 1/2" Length: 51" Depth: 17 3/4" Note: Popular in the 1950s, examples of this delightful toy are best known as an amusement attraction for children found at Sulky Track in the Paris Zoo and on northern French beaches during the mid 20th century.
