A BURMESE FAUX JEWELED GILTWOOD FIGURE OF BUDDHA, LATE 20TH CENTURY, carved standing in samabhanga on a short stylized lotus base and wearing an ushnisha on a tightly curled hairstyle before a mica and faux jewel inset diadem, above a serene smiling expression with inlaid eyes and long pendulous ears, over long robes gathered in folds over the left shoulder and covering the arms ending above the waist, over a tapering skirt with a border of raised scrolling details enclosing matching faux jewels throughout, his outstretched hands holding a fruit on left and the other the robe's border, raised on a later square form stained wood plinth.
