A GROUP OF FIVE CHINESE AND SOUTHEAST ASIAN BUDDHISTIC AND HINDU ITEMS, 19TH/20TH CENTURY, each of diminutive size and possibly for a home altar, comprising a 19th century Qing Dynasty painted earthenware Buddhistic lion with grimacing expression, scrolling mane and tail while seated on a rectangular base, enclosing three yellow silk ribbon wrapped prayer scrolls, height: 5 3/4"; a Balinese gilt and colorfully painted carved wood figure of Garuda, height: 7 3/4"; a bronze Hindu standing figure of the goddess Ganga wearing traditional attire and arms held out to side, height: 4"; two antique Tibetan/Nepalese brass, copper, silver, and steel mounted stiff animal hide tinder/flint pouches "chuckmucks," each with brass suspension loops or handle and one with a pierced floral silver mounted flap above a curved brass X's band and conforming steel blade striker, length: 4 1/4"; one with a pierced brass mounted flap of overlapping scrolled panels flanking a stylized Taotie mask over curved brass X's band and steel blade striker, length: 5".
