Dimensions; 14.25in H x 9.625in W x 5.5in D PROVENANCE: from the Estate of Senior Chief Petty Officer Aviation Engineer Thomas Clanton, USN Ret., (1935-2019), of Scout Trace, Blairsville and a former lifelong resident of Sarasota, FL. The son of the late Willard Clanton and the late Karen Clanton. Tom was a veteran of the US Navy having given thirty years of service for his country. While in the USN he was stationed in Olongapo Philippines and at Ching Chaun Kang Air Base in Taiwan flying aboard the P3 Orion. The P3 was used for anti-submarine operations and as reconnaissance missions. Since then, Tom begins fascinated and collecting many Oriental Chinese Antiques and Fine Arts. Chinese Qing Dynasty porcelain Moon-flask vase on a carved solid hardwood stand. Large coin-shaped body, circular opening, U-shaped handles and splayed concave foot base. Depicted is a variation of floral blooms interweaved with sprawling vines that wrap around the vessels outer surface. A scrolling band circumscribes the base and top portion of the neck. The shape is uniformly proportioned, without overlap of the outlines, well drawn, clear, subtle, and distinct. The clay is fine and exquisite, the glaze smooth, brilliant with a moist appearance, the finishing meticulous. A large hand carved hardwood pedestal displayed this heavenly vase elevated from the ground.Mark on base, a six blue underglazed seal script -ZhuanShu- characters, Made in The Year of Qianlong Reign Period of Great Qing Dynasty.
