Dimensions; 3.375in H x 8.75in W x 8.75in D PROVENANCE: from the Estate of Senior Chief Petty Officer Aviation Engineer Thomas Clanton, USN Ret., (1935-2019), of Scout Trace, Blairsville and a former lifelong resident of Sarasota, FL. The son of the late Willard Clanton and the late Karen Clanton. Tom was a veteran of the US Navy having given thirty years of service for his country. While in the USN he was stationed in Olongapo Philippines and at Ching Chaun Kang Air Base in Taiwan flying aboard the P3 Orion. The P3 was used for anti-submarine operations and as reconnaissance missions. Since then, Tom begins fascinated and collecting many Oriental Chinese Antiques and Fine Arts. A Chinese Ming Dynasty porcelain, having deep vessel body, raised on concave footed ring base, with slightly flared rim. The exterior decorated with blue floral bouguets against clean white underglazed ground. The clay is fine and exquisite, the glaze smooth, brilliant with a moist appearance, the finish is meticulous. Mark on base, a vertical six underglazed blue script -KaiShu- characters mark, enclosed within a double fine rings, Xuande Reign Period of Great Ming Dynasty.
