Dimensions; Height: 14 1/4" Diameter: 8" Chinese Qing Dynasty Qianlong blue and white dragon pattern porcelain amphora vase. It has a thick vase body, a sturdy vase in a round body, gently tapered, shaped in a rotund body with rounded shoulders converging into a tall straight neck, with a slightly narrowed concaved foot base. Two mythical beast masks emerged from the neck creates the characterizing ears piece. The main body decorated with hand painting in underglazed blue of five-claws snarling huge blue imperial dragon careening through flaming cumulus clouds above thrashing Li-Shui waves in a blue cobalt color dragon squama rounded the vase, with a blazing pearl looms at the center of the moon flask beneath the dragons gaze. Banded with numerous geometrical and auspicious patterned ribbons on rim, neck, collar, and foot. Waves are known to serve as the dragons abode, with the dragon representing the Emperor and imperial household. Dragon is the symbol of the Emperor, the Son of Heaven, eternity, Yang and Yin, male vigor, represent longevity, wealth, abundance and fecundity. Upturning lappets on the shoulder and four layer decorated on the neck delicate with Auspicious Geometric pattern, key fret patterns, wavy Lishui water and Archaistic pattern with "Shou" medallion. The immaculate porcelain body covered with a characteristic silky glaze. The glaze terminates above the foot, revealed smooth pale-creme unglazed ground foot rim, with the slightly receded central remain base left white under glaze. The underside bear a reign mark, a six under-glazed blue seal script characters reign mark, Made in The Years of Qianlong Reign Period of Great Qing Dynasty.
