此炉选上等精铜铸造而成，铜质精炼，厚胎，颇为压手。唇口折沿，束颈鼓腹，对称象耳，腹下呈三足，底刻“正德年制”四字篆书寄托款，耳部、足部、底款均予以局部鎏金装饰，其余皆保留原铜本色，对比鲜明。明朝正德皇帝信仰伊斯兰教，在全国赠款修建清真寺，不少穆斯林在朝内担任重臣。此炉的象耳造型颇具阿拉伯异域风情，即是对当时文化交融的时代背景的反映。整器造型稳重，工艺细腻，包浆浑厚，鎏金华美，为文房大雅之器。
