Famille Rose Dragon Hu vase, China, 19th c. Circumferential decoration with 4 round yellow-ground reserves with writhing dragons in green and pink (alternating). Dark blue-green background with lotus flowers and tendrils. Handles as animal masks with outstretched tongues. An apocryphal Ming mark (4 characters in cobalt blue) below the base. Glaze slightly rubbed in places, h. 37 cm.
