Zuber et Cie (French, founded 1797), late 20th century. Eight panels (thirteen through twenty) of 'Hindustan' hand-blocked scenic wallpaper, depicting a lush romanticized Indian landscape. Also included is a selection of sky, lower paneland three end remnants, The 1,265 wooden blocks used to create the entire scene were carved in 1807 and are classified as Historical Monuments by the French Minister of Culture. The lower section of each panel marked 'Made In France' and'Hindustan/Par/Zuber et Cie'. Approx. of each panel, h. 137.75" x w. 28"; length of sky 77.5".
