Henry Scott (British, 1911-2005). "Decks Awash", oil on canvas. Signed lower right, titled on label verso. Note: Often compared to fellow nautical painter Montague Dawson, Henry Scott spent his career portraying the tumultuous nature of life at sea. Scott regularly received commissions from wealthy sailing clients for portraits of their ships. As with "Decks Awash" he set these portraits in realistic rough seas, often with identifiable geographic landmarks. As a result ofhis work, Scott was allowed to exhibit at the Royal Academy of Marine Artists for many years. Approx. 46.75" x 56.5" (framed), 40" x 50" (canvas)
