BOW-WIELDING CUPID

The original marble model of the Cupid, made by François Duquesnoy
circa 1629 is preserved in the Staatliche Museen in Berlin (inv.N°540). The
marble, heavily damaged during the Second World War' may have been
fully restored.
Duquesnoy is inspired by Cupido che fabrica l'arco, a wood painting by
Parmigianino around 1533, it is preserved in the Kunsthistorisches Museum in Vienna,
Austria.
