此件泥擦的题材为莲师八变图，中间主尊是莲师，左右两边为其明妃曼达拉娃及益西嘉措。莲师的正上方应为阿弥陀佛，左右两边沿背光排列是莲师的八个化身，在显意上代表莲师生平重要的事迹。 此泥擦尺寸小且以模印制，主尊以外的人物形象概略，细部用泥金、黑彩处理。整件擦擦敷色浓丽，大量使用正红、天青石蓝、泥金等色料。主尊莲花生着皇家式样服装，衣袍涂上天蓝色及橘色，头戴红色莲师帽，背光绘钴蓝色以衬出其亮丽色相。莲师面容用细笔勾绘出庄严的神情，整体用色大胆鲜丽，反映藏人对色彩的喜好。
