A FINE DRY-LACQUER FIGURE OF GUANYIN, CHINA, late Ming dynasty, seated in vajrasana with both hands resting on his lap in dhyanamudra, wearing monastic garment including wide-sleeved mantle covering both shoulders, jewellery consisting of a delicately worked-out necklace and bracelets, his face displaying a serene expression with downcast eyes below arched eyebrows running into his nose-bridge, smiling lips, his hair combed in a small chignon and secured with a separate modelled five-leaf tiara set to the front with a minute figure of Buddha Amitabha - Property from the collection of Friedrich and Ruth Boss, assembled in China between 1911 and 1938 - Age cracks, very minor damages due to age, tiara with repair.
