The centre painted with a chinoiserie scene, possibly by Johann Christoph Horn, depicting a standing figure wearing a black hat flanked by flowering plants with a fence and rockwork to one side, a bird and insects overhead, within a border of gilt strap- and scrollwork, the rim decorated with three chinoiserie scenes by a different hand depicting figures engaged in various amusing pursuits within gilt borders edged with Böttger lustre and iron-red scrolls, alternating with gilt foliate strapwork enclosing a floral motif, the reverse with two branches of indianische Blumen, 22.3cm diam., crossed swords mark in underglaze-blue (very minor rubbing to centre)
