A fine Lambayeque (Sican) Naymlap bottle from Peru, ca. 700 - 1300 AD. This nicely made vessel is 6-5/8 inches high and depicts the primary deity Naymlap flanked by two of his children. The lines on his face depict tears, which represent rain. He is adorned with large ear ornaments and the characteristic conical headdress that has a band of ornaments at the front. Intact, with good root marks and mineral deposits. Cf. De Lavalle "Lambayeque", page 40. (LA550)
