作者简介：潘公凯，1947年1月24日出生于浙江宁海，国画大师潘天寿先生的二公子。1996年任中国美术学院院长，2001年6月至2014年9月，任中央美术学院院长，现任中国美术家协会副主席。教授在任中国美术学院院长和中央美术学院院长的同时也是博士生导师，自1979年以来一直担任中国画创作和美术史论教学工作，1992年5月至1994年1月曾赴美国伯克利大学研访。
