Persian miniature of the 15th century, Firdousi, Abu l-Qasim. Shah name. The Iranian Crown Prince Kay Khusrau beheaded King Afrasiyab of Turan. Single sheet from a Persian manuscript on gelatinized paper with a miniature in colored gouache with gold elevation. 4 columns. Writing mirror: 23 x 13.5 cm. Image size: 9.8 x 12.5 cm. Sheet size approx .: 26 x 15 cm. Framed with a gold frame mat under glass in multi-profiled and gilded wooden strips. Iran, Shiraz, mid-15th century (ca.1430-1440). Miniature from an old paper manuscript with a scene from the Persian Shah name of the poet Abu l-Qasim Firdausi (940-1020). With his monumental, about 60,000 verse epic ''Shah Name'', the ''Book of Kings'', he created the national epic of the Persian-speaking world and thus the world's largest epic by a single poet.
