题识： 瑞应麒麟颂，钦惟帝陛下嗣承…嘉瑞百拜稽首献颂曰…翰林院侍讲学士奉训大夫臣沈度谨撰。 沈度（一三五七至一四三四），明代书法家，字民则，号自乐。华亭（今上海松江）人。曾任翰林侍讲学士。擅篆、隶、楷、行等书体，与弟沈粲皆擅长书法，藏于秘府，被称为“馆阁体”，为明代台阁体书法的代表人物。台阁体又称馆阁体，“台阁”原指尚书，后为官府代称，台阁体书法早在宋代即已出现，至明代，因其为皇帝所赏识，而获得很大发展，遂成为一种独立的书体形式明代台阁体书法结体平正，笔致光洁，景色乌黑，风格秀润华美，适合皇家的欣赏口味和审美标准。
