捧盒为紫檀整挖而成，紫檀木色深沉，表面密布牛毛纹。盒作四方，盖作子母口，盖沿相交处起灯草线，盒盖严丝合缝，做工精细。盖面嵌以云龙纹图案，以螺钿作龙纹。整器造型方正，线条匀细流畅，嵌工精致，深纯的紫檀色泽与百宝嵌相互映衬，增加了盒身的装饰效果。 百宝嵌工，据《遵生八笺》称：「如雕刻宝嵌紫檀等器，其费心思工本，为一代之绝。」其做法，有隐起如浮雕的，也有表面平齐，不见起伏的。此件拜盒镶嵌画面如浮雕，色艳质润，方寸之间，图文清雅，展玩在目，妙趣横生。完整
