Five Burmese clay-mounted pipes, 19th century, each bowl decorated, with banded shafts, one with label 'Clay pipe with silver stem - These pipes are made at Yaunghwe in the Southern Shan States. Their manufacture goes as far back as the 14th or 15th Cent: Given by Saw-on-Kya O.R. 1915', largest 29cm long (5) Provenance: The Trevor Barton Collection. Condition report: All the stems and mouthpieces are dented - some compressed - some chips to the clay bowls.
