Harvie I. Driscoll (1885-1949)
Harvie I. Driscoll was born in Los Angeles, CA in an upper middle-class family. He acquired the passion for Chinese antiques from his father who was an antique hobbyist. At a young age, Mr. Driscoll was surrounded by many different types of Asian arts that led him to become an avid collector and antique dealer. After graduating from college, Mr. Driscoll borrowed money from his parents and started his first antique store of Chinese Arts in Los Angeles. During that time, he met many collectors and friends with similar interest that helped him grew his knowledge and business. In 1920, Mr. Driscoll decided to visit China to broaden his knowledge and to search for prestigious pieces. After his trip to China, he decided to move to New York City to expand his Chinese Antique business.
