TWO OPIUM WEIGHTS Bronze Laos and Burma , 19th century Dimensions: Height 13,5 cm and 7 cm Weights: 1481,8 grams and 320,8 grams Called hintha weights, the weights of the Burmese kingdom usually had the shape of a lion, a goose or hen. These two examples are very distinctive looking, especially the big weight. The shape of the bird is more like a duck and the feather dress is elaborated by decorative incisions. The smaller weight whereas resembles the "standard" shape of many hintha weights.
