Important tapestry from the Royal Manufactory of Beauvais of the Louis XIV period. The "Grotesques" tapestry in wool and silk with a tobacco background, representing a "Couple of musicians" under a flowered arch, in an entourage of garlands, vases and trophies, surmounted by "Sphinges" and "Parrots". Border with red "bastons rompus" on a blue background. Based on the cartoons of Jean-Baptiste Monnoyer and Jean Bérain I, under the direction of Philippe Behagle (1641-1705). French work.
