He entered Hangzhou National Art College in 1932 and then Shanghai Xinhua Art College in 1933. Shen learned after Pan Tianshou, Wang Yachen and Zhu Qizhan. He was a well-known painter and educator in China, serving as a professor in Nanjing University of the Arts. Masterpieces are Longgang in the Winter, Beacon Fire, etc.
