A blue and white "Joke" plate
A blue and white "Joke" plate, Kangxi period, ca. 1700, China, A curious little plate showing a variation on a well known scene of a Long Eliza with a boy. Here the painter gave the figures a long nose and the lady donkey ears. Together with a normal version of the same plate.
Provenance: A Dutch noble family. D 13 cm, One small chip and the other (regular plate) with a hairline.
