Ivory, natural patina.
Two very ancient anthropomorphic sculptures of traditional society, probably man and woman, the characteristic faces of the Hemba.
Late 19th - early 20th century.
Length : 23,5 cm.
Small old accidents.
Provenance : Family collection, Loir et Cher.
Note : Specimen in ivory of Elephantidae spp (I/A) pre-Convention, before July 1st 1947 and therefore in conformity with the EC Rule 338/97 of 09/12/1996 art.2-Wmc, and before July 1st 1975 and therefore in conformity with the French decrees of August 16th 2016 and May 4th 2017. For an exit of the European Union, a CITES re-export will be necessary, this one being the responsibility of the future buyer. The issuance of such a document is not automatic. For a possible re-export, it will be up to the purchaser to check - prior to any purchase - with the customs of the country concerned, particularly if it is the United States.
