Alfred G. Buckingham (1879-1956). Sunshine and Thaw, gelatin silver print, signed and titled verso, 30cm x 22cm. Alfred Buckingham initially wanted to be an artist but during the First World War he was the first head of aerial reconnaissance for the Royal Navy. He subsequently became famous for his aerial photography. Provenance; Label verso Japan British Exhibition in 1910.
