胭脂水釉始创于康熙末至雍正初期，造办处研制出了呈色红紫的珐琅彩釉，并将其作为原料用于早期之料彩瓷釉之中，亦称“蔷薇红”、“洋金红”或“玫瑰红”，着色淡雅者为“胭脂水”。为令此种新釉的呈色稳定鲜艳，御窑厂需在釉料配方中加入黄金后再入窑烧制，故而愈显珍贵。该对胭脂水釉小盘为光绪年间所制，釉色饱满，正如陈浏《陶雅》所述，有“匀净明艳，殆亡伦比；紫晶逊其鲜妍，玫瑰无其娇丽”之绝色。大清光绪年制
