A one-case lacquered wood inro Edo period (1615-1868), 19th century Of oval section and wide form, the ground carved with a cherry-floret lozenge pattern, decorated in relief with a double-dragon simulated clasp and with simulated hinges on the reverse, lacquered in gold takamaki-e on the top with an egoro (handled incense burner) of lotus form, the interior roiro-nuri with kinji edges, signed Hojun shujin to and with a kao; fitted with a fruit-stone ojime, carved with figures 1 5/8in (4cm) high
