* FOUR PERSIAN POTTERY VESSELS OF ORIENTAL INSPIRATION PROPERTY FROM AN IMPORTANT PRIVATE EUROPEAN COLLECTOR Iran, 19th - early 20th century Comprising three bowls, of different sizes, each of rounded shape, resting on a short straight circular foot, one imitating Japanese imari overglaze enamelling, decorated with stylised peonies and bamboos motifs, the other two imitating export market Guangdong (Cantonese) famille rose overglaze enamelling, decorated with lush roses, floral sprays and golden starred motif against a cobalt blue ground, each base plain without makers' marks, the largest 29cm diam. and 11cm high; and a small vase, of compressed globular shape, resting on a short foot, the white body painted in underglaze cobalt blue pigment, the top with a diamond-shaped grid design with lobed roundels filled with stylised flower-heads, the body with motifs and vegetal scrolls inspired by Chinese porcelains, 8.5cm high.
