GERALD BENNEY: a rare silver and gold bowl London 1968, also GERALD BENNEY 1/5 Circular form, the interior surface with rayed feathered textured decoration issuing from an inset gold disc, the upswept sides with an applied gold rim, diameter 25.4cm, weight 22.8oz. Although each piece bears a limited edition number, it is believed only one of each design was actually made. Rutland Gallery Exhibition Between 13 - 30 November 1968 Gerald Benney held a one man show at the Rutland Gallery, 29 Bruton Street in London. A collection specifically made for the gallery Gerald Benney created twenty designs. These pieces were distinguished by the round circle of solid gold inlaid into each piece. This bowl is catalogue entry number ten in the corresponding Rutland Collection book, entry reads 'Sterling silver dish with 18ct gold rim and disc'.
