葫芦因其独有的外形特性与名称谐音，被先人赋予了许多美好寓意：葫芦之形状似“吉”字，故而常被寓以“吉祥”之意；葫芦读音似“福禄”，所以亦常用于祈福；此外，又因葫芦多籽，故又承载了古人祈求多子多孙的美好愿望。本器长颈，中部收腰，承高圈足，颈部两侧兽耳衔环。瓶上、下腹分别贴饰海棠纹及龙纹寿字。整器造型规整，敦实厚重，富丽堂皇。参阅：《文绘菁英》第238、239页，盈记唐人工艺出版社，2012年。
