Biography: Leon Levinstein attended the Maryland Institute of Art after his family removed to Baltimore from West Virginia during the Great Depression. He served in the Army Air Force (Air Corps) during World War II. Levinstein studied photography under Sid Grossman at the Photo League and later at Grossman's residence.
